James Albert Sutton

Again death has visited our family circle and claimed our dear brother James Albert Sutton. He was born Dec. 25 1837 and departed this life Feb. 28, 1894, being at the time of his death, 57 years, 2 months and [?] days old. He was married to Mary Delilia McCabe, Oct. 27, 1868. He leaves a devoted wife, 4 affectionate children-three sons and one daughter, five sisters and two brothers, and a number of friends to mourn their loss--his father, mother, three brothers and two sisters having preceded him to the heavenly land. Although his suffering was short, he bore it patiently and with great fortitude, and seemed resigned to the will of his Master by expressing that he was going home to mother. Fond ties of love will bind his memory to the hearts of his friends, and though he has crossed the dark river to the great unknown, the moral of his life with those he loved and those who loved him will still live on. With one last good-bye to the ones he loved, he peacefully sank to rest. He was laid to rest Mar. 2, in Stringtown Cemetery, where he will await resurrection Morn.

We are so sad and lonely now-

sadness wreaths our furrowed brow;

How we sisters will now miss him,

When to that home we will now go;

And our hearts will fill with sorrow,

And our tears will often flow;

Brother, we have laid thee,

In the peaceful grave's embrace;

But thy memory will be cherished,

Till we see thy heavenly face;

You are sleeping, calmly sleeping,

Care can no more trouble your breast;

And is Heaven's safest keeping,

Our dear brother is at rest;

Farewell, dear brother, sweet thy rest,

Weary with years and worn with pain--

Farewell, till in some happy place,

We shall behold thy face again.

A Sister, M.L.
